I meet with prospective students and advise current students, particularly those in their first year of the program.  I coordinate the Secret of Life (Freshman Genetics and BCBio) Learning Community and teach the orientation classes, GEN 110 and 112.  Prior to this appointment, I was a Lecturer for Agronomy (GEN 320) and Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology (BBMB 301), an Extension Program Specialist in corn genomics with Dr. Patrick Schnable, and a Teaching Laboratory Coordinator for Genetics and Cell Biology labs. I also taught at a private university and a community college. All these experiences inform my work with undergraduate students and I am especially pleased to promote the superb Genetics program at Iowa State University.
